How many times have you been in conversation with someone and that line comes up? :)
It seems that everyone is a photographer nowadays.
Just merely owning the equipment seems to qualify you to use this once revered tag.
Rob Haggart over at the A Photo Editor blog, muses about a recent trip to a sporting event where it sounds like there were more photographers in attendance than athletes… something that pro photographers are finding out all too often!
